Being able to perform simulations of SKA1-LOW which include a far more complete and flexible representation of EEPs will allow for better testing and analysis of the telescope and telescope data products.

      • Validate HARP against FEKO etc. for a representative set of frequencies from 50 to 350 MHz  (single SKALA4.1 antenna, full station).
      • Obtain and review HARP code (and associated tools and scripts).

    Description

This work is expected to be a collaboration between the team(s) who picks up the work and HARP developers who can be contacted by talking to e.deleraacedo.

The focus in PI10 is to establish the feasibility and amount of effort it would take to incorporating HARP into existing SKA1-LOW array simulation tools (OSKAR, EveryBeam etc).

As part of this plan, it would be useful to consider the possibility of creating a single SKA1-LOW beam library rather than potentially duplicating effort as is currently the case for OSAKR and EveryBeam.

e.deleraacedo: I added below a slide deck with results from the latest evolution of the code.
