    Description

In its current implementation, the SDP application pss-receive is capable of receiving single-pulse candidate data from the pulsar search pipeline (PSS). At present, no operations are performed on the candidate data upon reception at the SDP, however it is intended that it will undergo further processing by a
machine learning classifier to filter the candidates to a subset which are scientifically most interesting. However, a number of factors need to be considered and resolved before such an implementation is possible:

      • The existing classification software is designed to classify pulsar candidates but not single pulse candidates.
      • There is no provision currently within PSS to export real or emulated pulsar candidates.

This feature will comprise the design of a single pulse classification pipeline as an SDP application that will run alongside or within the existing pss-receive application.
