Description
Complete 'Further work and outstanding issues' as described in the report produced for SP-774 'Investigate adding a 1GB Ethernet Connection to LFAA SPS Network':
- Check that a 1GE connection from CMB (what does CMB stand for) is available; the SPS Detailed Design Document mentions a 10GE is used to connect the monitor and control data to the LFAA 100GE network?
- Check LMC traffic capacity calculations, and confirm that NSDN has enough bandwidth to support the additional services.
- Check the LFAA network logical network design and configuration for the LMC services e.g. network addressing schemes. Note that the LFAA logical network design and configuration is a bigger task than covered by this TIMS ticket.
In addition, the following concern from G. Comoretto should also be addressed:
"I am a bit perplexed. This means that the MCCS control network has to be integrated with SaDT NSDN system. I would feel safer if the two systems are segregated, to limit the possibility of fault propagation. MCCS 1G network and the master MCCS node are also protected by UPS and designed as high availability. But your network experts are surely more expert than me, and it is good to have an homogeneous network architecture."
This should be done in consultation with m.waterson who has also looked into these points.
If in addressing these questions no showstoppers are discovered, an ECP should be proposed that captures the results of SP-774 combined with this ticket.
