RASCIL has a lot of potential value as both a simulation and workflow prototyping framework demonstrating the use of Dask for SDP workflows in a way that very closely matches the baseline SDP architecture. Onboarding RASCIL in SKA Gitlab will make it more easily discoverable to other SKA developers and bring it closer to the SKA software ecosystem making it easier to progress in future PIs.

      2. Get feedback from new users and new developers reviewing curent RASCIL documentation and ease to start using/developing
      3. Develop, document and use a process for managing rascil dependencies

RASCIL has been onboarded into the SKA GitLab:

      https://gitlab.com/ska-telescope/rascil
      https://gitlab.com/ska-telescope/rascil-docker

The CI pipeline has been improved, and Python packages and Docker images are now built automatically.

The documentation, including the installation instructions, were tested by users and developers from the Sim, Escapees, Spaza and Planet teams. Their feedback was used to improve the documentation, and it has been restructured to describe the context in which RASCIL has been developed on the front page:

      https://ska-telescope.gitlab.io/rascil/

(The documentation is published to GitLab pages instead of the SKA developer portal because some Jupyter notebooks are built automatically as part of the documentation. This is not supported by readthedocs.)
