Description
ADR-32 agreed a standard format for MID Disk identifiers. There is a similar project-wide agreed standard for identifying LOW stations but not sub-stations.
In document SKA-TEL-SKO-0000422 a naming convention of "C000", "E1-1", "N1-1" or "S1-1" etc. is used, but these strings cannot be used in many communications internal to the MCCS subsystem, or between MCCS and CSP-Low. Instead integer identifiers will be needed.
Furthermore various discussions around ADR-51 (and others) have suggested that there is a need to agree how various LOW concepts are to be identified.
This ADR aims to reach an agreement on how to identify LOW Stations and substations in a way suitable for all stakeholders. It is anticipated that a mapping between at least two systems may be required.
