Description
The approach of the SDP architecture is to aim for flexible approach to co-design - in contrast to many more hardware-oriented sub-systems, SDP should remain flexible to adapt to hardware and software paradigm changes in the future.
This means that what we should be working towards is a continuous (integration) feedback loop where we use both the software to evaluate the hardware and the other way around. For this to work effectively we need hardware and software models that allow us to relate them to each other in a robust fashion - storage, accelerators, networks, etc.
This feature would be to review the current state of the art in SKA-like processing for SDP with respect to the architecture, focusing on
- software
- hardware
- existing co-design results in HPC and the tools that were used
This should also look back to SDP work done for CDR.
